On October 26, 2023, under the coordinated arrangement of the Singapore Enterprise Center, the Shanghai Pudong New District Government - Singapore Enterprises Roundtable, organized by the Commission of Commerce of Pudong New District, were successfully held at the Qiantan World Trade Center. Yang Chao, Deputy District Mayor of Pudong New Area, representatives from various relevant committees and offices of Pudong New Area, and delegates from Singapore enterprises, the Singapore Economic Development Board, and the Singapore Enterprise Center attended the meeting.
The Singapore enterprises present at the meeting included GuocoLand Limited (China), Giti Tire (China) Investment, Surbana Jurong Group, Raffles Hospital Shanghai, UOB Bank (China), DBS Bank (China), and OCBC Wing Hang Bank (China), totaling seven Singaporean companies. The primary objective of this roundtable meeting was to coordinate and address various issues encountered by Singapore enterprises in their operations within Pudong New District.
During the meeting, representatives from the participating enterprises focused on expressing their concerns and opinions regarding operational challenges. Responsible officials from the District Commission of Commerce, Health Commission, Financial Regulatory Administration, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Lujiazui Administration Bureau, Economic and Technological Development Committee, and Ministry of Education, among other relevant departments, provided detailed policy interpretations and responses to each issue raised during the discussion.
